5 Post Instance Creation Steps
All instances of the SAP Product Lifecycle Costing cloud solution contain the software components necessary to
use the SAP Product Lifecycle Costing solution, and come preconfigured with default settings. However, the
following manual steps must be executed once in order to use SAP Product Lifecycle Costing successfully.
5.1 HTTPS Access to the XS Engine of SAP HANA
SAP Product Lifecycle Costing uses secure HTTPS for communication. Therefore HTTPS access to the XSEngine
of the SAP HANA database must be configured to use a certificate that can be validated by the client during login.
More details can be found in the SAP Product Lifecycle Costing Administrators Guide at https://help.sap.com/plc
→ Installation and Upgrade Information → Administrator’s Guide.
5.2 Activation of Technical Users
During the installation of SAP Product Lifecycle Costing, two system users, SAP_PLC_TECHNICAL_USER and
SAP_PLC_TECHNICAL_USER_REPO, with default passwords are created. For security reasons, these users are
initially deactivated. To enable database access, change the passwords of the new usersand activate them.
Please make sure the users and not required to change the password afterwards. In SAP HANA Studio, e.g.
select the option "No" for the setting "Force password change on next logon" when changing the password. For
more information on changing passwords and activating users, see the Administrators Guide for SAP Product
Lifecycle Costing at https://help.sap.com/plc → Installation and Upgrade Information → Administrator’s Guide.
5.3 Download and Configuration of the SAP Product
Lifecycle Costing Client
The SAP Product Lifecycle Costing client-installer file is placed inside the created instance. It is available in the
directory /cal/plugins/plc/ and can be copied from there. More details regarding the installation and
configuration can be found in the Administrators Guide for SAP Product Lifecycle Costing at
https://help.sap.com/plc → Installation and Upgrade Information → Administrator’s Guide.
