Walkathon

WHY:
This is our main school fundraiser for the year.
100% of the money you donate will be used to enhance your child’s educational experience at River Heights
Elementary.
The money is used for Art/Talent Show, Movie Night, End of Year Celebration, Teacher Appreciation Week, and
other activities and celebrations during the year.
Funds will also be used to provide updated chromebooks in the school as well as updated emergency bags, and
other school needs.
WHEN:
April 18 - 22 will be the fundraising week.
All donations need to be submitted by Friday, April 22.
Friday will be the walkathon event.
It will be held at lunchtime and parents are invited to come cheer on your students!
The assembly announcing total donations, winners, and the prize raffle will be held on Friday, April 22.
DETAILS FOR STUDENTS:
COLLECT PLEDGES
Pledges are a flat donation, not per lap.
Ask your family and close friends to help in our school fundraiser by donating money and in turn you commit to walk
as many laps as you can to show thanks!
They can give cash, a check written to “River Heights Elementary”, or use the QR code to donate.
Please make sure to fill out the attached donation cards completely.
TURN IN PLEDGE CARDS AND DONATION ( MONDAY - FRIDAY )
Each morning there will be a table in the lobby and by the bus drop off. Look for the table with green and blue
balloons! Volunteers will help take the donations and track the progress. Raffle tickets will automatically be
entered into the drawing through the office so they don’t get lost throughout the week.
WALKATHON ON FRIDAY
All grades will participate in the walkathon right after they eat lunch, except kindergarten.
K - AM - 11:10

WIN and CELEBRATE
Here are ways to earn prizes:
● Early Bird: all students who turn in pledge cards and money on Monday, April 18 will receive a can of
soda!
● Participation Prizes: Each day you bring donations you will be entered for a daily raffle. There will be a
drawing for 5 prizes before school gets out. Principal Adams will read the winning names over the
intercom. If your name is called, you can pick the item up in the office.
The 5 prizes each day will be a gift bag filled with assorted discount cards and treats, and will also include:
Monday : Shivers Frozen yogurt BOGO or Crumbl gift cards
Tuesday: Dollar Tree gift cards worth $10 ea.
Wednesday: iFit beach balls and hats
Thursday: Taco Time gift cards
Friday: Color Changing cups from Thomson Family Orthodontics
● Daily Goal: If the goal of $2400 is made each day, There will be party music playing during lunch recess!
● Lap Winner Prizes: One girl and one boy with the most laps from each class will each receive a special
prize and recognition on Monday.
● Class Contest Prize: The class from each grade with the highest student donations will get ice cream from
Caspers on Monday the 25th.
● Raffle Ticket Prizes: For every $5.00 donation a student brings in, they will earn one raffle ticket. The
tickets will be automatically entered as they are earned so they aren’t lost throughout the week. Tickets
will be drawn Friday afternoon.
● Also on Friday afternoon we will:
○ announce our final fundraising total
○ give the awards for the lap winners
○ announce the class winners
○ Raffle remaining gift cards and discount cards
○ have the raffle for the main prizes!
○ Also, if we reach our goal we get to SLIME PRINCIPAL ADAMS!!!! We will draw names from
the raffle to help us cover her in green slime!!!
