Hear from current advisors about how InteleTravel has helped them learn
about the travel industry:
Christine Ciletti has been an InteleTravel advisor for 10
years. Once a Vice President of Marketing for a large
fast food chain, she never thought she would retire to
then become an independent travel advisor, but she is
so glad she made that decision.
Chrisitine credits the education InteleTravel provides
as a contributing factor in her success. “The education
oered by InteleTravel.com is unending. If you are
willing to invest the time in yourself, the information is
absolutely unending and FREE!! There are also many
FREE travel courses oered by InteleTravel’s suppliers.
I joined Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA),
at a very nominal cost, and earned my way to become
a Master Cruise Counselor. I have truly benefited from
every CLIA course, especially the course on Groups.
She adds, “I especially enjoy the live training and boot
camp activities. InteleTravel frequently arranges training
events with our Preferred Partners, who are outstanding
suppliers and the best experts in the travel business.
These travel professionals not only share product
information but also many selling strategies.
Christine also points out that she has connected with other advisors by going to these events. “I’ve
gained many friendships at InteleTravel.com. I always enjoy
meeting new advisors and the sta is very supportive and
friendly.
Mandy Goddard, an advisor who has been with InteleTravel for
3 years, applauds InteleTravel’s education, stating that she tries
to participate in the weekly webinars and attends preferred
vendors online training opportunities as well.
Similarly to Christine, Mandy credits InteleTravel’s Boot Camp as
a great way to meet other advisors.
“The InteleTravel Boot Camp in Florida this past April was great
as well as networking with the advisors I have brought onboard.
“InteleTravel is an opportunity to take one’s travel passion
above and beyond anything ever anticipated!”
“I love the freedom to arrange my own
schedule. To be able to take time o to
travel without having to ask permission
from my boss… I’m the boss!”
– MANDY GODDARD

How do I know what my commission is going
to be?
Can you give me an example of the kind of
exclusive oers customers receive?
Commissions from suppliers are typically between 10% and 16%. Once you become an InteleTravel
advisor, your commission from the travel you book will be 70% to 80% of those supplier commissions.
For example, you book a trip for a client and it costs that client $3,000. Let’s say the commission from
the suppliers will be 16%. That amounts to $480. Further, for this particular trip, your commission is
70%. This means you will be paid $336 for booking that one trip.
$3,000 x 0.16 = $480
$480 x 0.70 = $336
InteleTravel advisors are privy to special discounts and upgrades through their relationship with
InteleTravel, and thus, their relationship with major travel suppliers and brands.
One example of how you can save your clients money on
travel is getting upgraded at a tropical resort from a room
without a view to a room with an ocean view—free of charge.
An upgrade like this is something travelers have to pay extra
for, but your client would not have to pay any additional
money because they booked it through you.
Another example that would appeal to your clients is paying
half the price for a guest on a cruise. Cruise lines, such as
Royal Caribbean, oer deals similar to this. If you were an
advisor, you would be able to tell your clients about this
type of discount in which one person is able to cruise for
half o. So, let’s say you are helping a couple book a cruise and it costs $200 per person. Thanks to
InteleTravel, instead of spending $400, that couple would only spend $300 for the both of them.
$200 + $200 = $400
$200 + ($200 x 0.50) = $200 + $100 = $300
Savings: $100

Why would anyone want to buy travel from me?
No one is going to let someone else plan a vacation or business
trip if he or she is not confident in that person, so your family and
friends would probably appreciate knowing someone who can
book travel for them. They are going to choose you over another
travel advisor as a result. Plus, even though many people try to book
travel on their own, being related to or friends with an independent
travel advisor could motivate them to ask for help, especially since
you will have all the tools to arrange an amazing trip for a great price.
When it comes to finding other clients, it may be dicult in the
beginning, but the key is referrals. In other words, if you start o
booking travel for a friend, that friend most likely knows someone
who is also planning a trip. Before you know it, you will have a
number of clients and they can refer you to other people. Christine
Ciletti also stresses attitude as a contributing component in selling
travel. “I get excited about an experience I enjoy. I’ve been told that
my enthusiasm becomes contagious and that sells the product.
Clearly explaining how you are going to find your potential clients
the best travel deals is another great selling strategy. InteleTravel
advisor Stephanie Goldberg Glazer reveals, “It is helpful for my
clients to break things down by value to them.” If clients do not
understand how you are going to save them money, they may think they can book travel on their own and
spend the same amount—maybe less. This is why InteleTravel is always there for their advisors in case
they need any questions answered or clarification, especially when they are just getting started.
However, InteleTravel does not require you to have a certain number of clients or any clients for that matter.
If you just want to utilize the discounts you receive as an advisor for your own adventures, don’t even worry
about finding clients. There are not any quotas you have
to meet, so only booking one or two trips a year for
yourself is not only allowed, it is encouraged!
“e best part about being a
travel professional is being
able to help clients create
lasting memories.
