BSN Advising Plan
Holistic Admission: Holistic admission is comprised of the following:
Academic Metrics (50%)
o Prerequisite Course GPA and TEAS Assessment
Experiences Essay (25%)
o Lived experiences, community engagement, volunteerism, etc.
o Formal education (more than 60 college level credits; MSUM preference points)
Attributes Essay (25%)
o Personal Qualities and Characteristics
Application Eligibility: Four out of the eight prerequisites must be completed with final grades and transcripts prior to the application
deadline. The four courses with the highest grades will be calculated for the application GPA. The composite GPA in the highest four
courses must be 2.75 or higher with no courses below a C-.
Admission Eligibility: All eight prerequisites must be completed with final grades and transcripts prior to the nursing term start. All eight
courses must have a composite GPA of 2.75 and no courses below a C-. If a prerequisite is not completed or does not meet the criteria,
admission will be rescinded.
Application Timeline: The BSN application window is December 1

. Admission decisions are communicated after March 1

Admission is competitive; 32 students are admitted for summer and fall cohorts.
