PARKING PAYING YOUR FARE EARLY BIRD EXPRESS BUS

The Early Bird Express includes 15 new bus lines running between 3:50 am and

5:30 am in both directions between stops. Twenty BART stations will be served,

including six stations in San Francisco and the Temporary Transbay Terminal. Bus

trips leaving from East Bay BART stations will arrive at the Temporary Transbay

Terminal at 4:40 am, 5:00 am, 5:15 am and 5:30 am. See the map below and the

schedule on the reverse side of this ﬂyer for all routes and times. Eight Bay

Area bus agencies will operate this network.

PARKING

Because BART stations won’t open until 5 am, current parking payment

methods will not be available for Early Bird Express riders. To allow riders to

continue to pay for parking between 3:30 am and 5:30 am, BART will offer

three different ways to pay.

1. Ofﬁcial BART app: Once you’ve parked, use the ofﬁcial BART app to pay for

your spot with a credit card, PayPal or Venmo. The app can be downloaded at

any time. The pay for parking pilot feature will be available by February 5, 2019.

2. Hang Tag Single-Day Pass: Purchase one or more pre-printed single-day

passes in person at the Embarcadero Clipper Card Ofﬁce or the Lake Merritt

customer service center. This option will be available by February 4, 2019.

3. Select-a-Spot Single-Day Pass: A single-day pass can be purchased

at www.select-a-spot.com/bart. This option will be available by February

4, 2019, and requires the rider to print out and display the pass on their

vehicle’s dashboard, clearly displaying the pass number.

The cost to park will remain the same. Clipper cannot be used to pay for parking

in the 4 am hour, which means the EZ Rider payment system cannot be used.

All of the above Early Bird Express parking options are for parking in the daily

fee spaces only, and are not valid for Permit spaces.

PAYING YOUR FARE

Riders who use the Early Bird Express can pay with either cash or

a Clipper

card using money loaded to the cash value purse on the

card. Riders cannot pay for Early Bird Express service using a Clipper

purse loaded with BART High Value Discount (HVD) tickets.

All fares will be the same as or less than the equivalent trip on BART.

Golden Gate Transit buses require that you tag on and tag off when

using your Clipper Card. If you fail to tag off, you will be charged the

maximum fare for your ride.

Because the stations will be closed, you must load cash

value on your card in advance.
