Proof of High School Completion
Proof that you completed high school is required to confirm your eligibility for federal financial aid and/or State of
Michigan scholarships and grants. Please provide the required document listed below within 14 business days.
To confirm eligibility for State and Federal financial aid, provide ONE of the following:
Official high school transcripts, homeschool transcripts and GED certificates must be sent to -

Official High School Transcript
Contact your high school or school district office to request an official transcript be sent directly to the WSU Office of
Undergraduate Admissions.
Homeschool Completion
Homeschooled Michigan students and those homeschooled in states that do not have the requirement for a secondary
completion credential should submit a transcript or the equivalent, which lists the secondary school courses the
student completed and documents the successful completion of a secondary school education in a homeschool
setting, signed by your parent or guardian.
If you are from another state and state law requires a homeschooled student to obtain a secondary school completion
credential for homeschool other than a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent, submit a copy of that
credential to the WSU Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
GED Certificate
Request a state certificate or transcript for the State-authorized examination (GED test, HiSET, TASC, or other State-
authorized examination) that the State recognizes as the equivalent of a high school diploma.
If you passed the examination in Michigan, follow the instructions on the State of Michigan website.
The following documents may be accepted for federal financial aid verification but will not fulfill
the requirement for State of Michigan scholarships/grants:
High School Diploma
Submit a copy of your official high school diploma. If you completed secondary education in a foreign country, you must submit
a copy of the “secondary school leaving certificate” or other similar document. Include your student ID on all documents.
College Transfer Credit
Submit either an academic transcript that indicates that you successfully completed at least a two-year program that is
acceptable for full credit toward a bachelor’s degree or an official copy of your transcript from another college or community
college that shows your high school completion status upon your admission to the institution. Submit official college transcripts
to Wayne State University, Transfer Credit Evaluation, P.O. Box 02759, Detroit, MI 48202-0759.
Official electronic transcripts may be emailed to admission[email protected].
Alternatively, your high school may electronically transmit the document to
the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. More information about electronic
