NORTHWESTERN OFF-CAMPUS LIFE WEBPAGE: this website is a compilation of information about living off-campus and
the resources available to students. The important information you need to be a good neighbor within the Evanston/Chicago-
metro communities and the Northwestern family is right here, and we hope you find it useful.
You can locate properties for rent, student sublet listings, roommate finder services and short-term rental options on this page.
Please visit the Northwestern University Off-Campus Life Page at: http://www.northwestern.edu/offcampus/

APARTMENT FINDER/REALTY SERVICES:
If you would like to seek help from a company that provides one-on-one assistance for your housing search, and apartments
outside of the campus neighborhood (Streeterville), there are a lot of businesses out there that can help. A couple are listed
below.
For students seeking to lease or purchase a home and are looking for one-on-one assistance. Terri Franklin has plenty of experience
working with NU medical students. Please feel free to contact her at her contact information listed below:

StudentSpace
Their office is located at 420 E. Superior St., Suite 181 (the Rubaloff Building on NU’s Chicago Campus). You can stop by or request a
tour of apartment buildings at their website: www.student-space.com
In the past, StudentSpace and other finder services have been very helpful to our students. You may not be charged for their services.
However, they work on commission and are compensated by property managers/landlords for helping to bring new tenants to
apartment buildings.
Using a finder service can be a great convenience, especially if you are looking for an apartment outside of the campus neighborhood,
but please keep in mind that if you allow them to serve as your representative, you may need to forfeit current rent specials that you
would otherwise receive through a self, NU direct referral or apartment open house.
OTHER APARTMENT SEARCH TOOLS
Public transportation is easily accessible throughout the city and the cost of housing in nearby neighborhoods is less competitive than the
Streeterville neighborhood. Although most students prefer the close proximity to campus particularly during their 3
rd
and 4
th
years, some students
have opted to seek living arrangements in nearby neighborhoods such as River North, Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Roger’s Park, Edgewater,
Wrigleyville, Old Town, and a few others. The links below are property management companies that offer apartments in most of those
neighborhoods.
