YOU ARE NOW THE PROUD
OWNER OF A NEW PIECE
OF STAUB COOKWARE
EN
STAUB was founded by Francis Staub
in 1974 in Alsace in France, a region
renowned for its rich history and
gastronomic tradition.
A perfect blend of aesthetics and
functionality, STAUB products are ideal
for both professional chefs and amateur
cooks seeking to discover the benets
of healthy and delicious cooking.
The stork is an important symbol in Alsace,
representing the region as well as the
STAUB brand itself. It is no accident
that STAUB has become a leading brand
both in France and around the world.
With a genuine guarantee of impeccable
quality, our products are the choice of
great chefs around the world. They are
used every day in restaurants worldwide,
both in the kitchen and at the table.
In keeping with the founder’s philosophy,
each STAUB product is unique. In order
to guarantee optimum performance
at all times and to fully develop the avors
of your food, all STAUB products have
undergone stringent testing. All our cast
iron cookware is made in France. Since
June 2008, STAUB has been a member
of the German ZWILLING Group, the
premium cutlery and utensil specialist.
Special features and benets
A unique product
Each piece is exceptional thanks to STAUB’s
traditional production method: the cast
iron is poured into a sand mold that is
destroyed aer use. In fact, like a ngerprint,
each piece is unique in its own, subtle way.
Black matte interior
The interior of STAUB cast iron products is
enameled in a textured “black matte”
nish. This superior means of production is
a technique that creates enamel (which
is mainly made of glass) with a better
resistance to thermal shocks and scratches
and that is far easier to maintain than
non-enamelled cast iron. The choice of
discerning amateurs and great chefs,
your STAUB product improves with use
while remaining easy to clean and easy
to use. STAUB products do not require
any seasoning and are ideal for frying,
roasting, glazing, and caramelizing foods.

Special “majolica” enamels:
made from 100% glass
The special color technique applied to
“majolica” enamels creates enamel
with a unique sheen and deeply intense
shades. The color process for the majolica
application includes three coats of
enamel.
The art of a beautiful table
The beautiful coloring from the traditional
cast iron manufacturing process combined
with innovative enameling techniques
means you can move your product from
kitchen to table with style. The exterior
enameling has at least two layers of
colored enamel.
Enameled cast iron
Enameled cast iron is a carbon-rich iron
alloy that has been around for centuries.
It is coated in an enamel that is largely
formed from highly shock-resistant
glass and is perfectly adapted to every
kitchen. It is one of the most eective
heat-retaining materials, diusing heat
slowly and redistributing it evenly on any
type of cooktop, including induction.
Once the cast iron is hot, its heat-retaining
properties allow you to reduce the heat to
a minimum, leaving your dishes to simmer
while reducing energy consumption. The
cast iron will also keep things cold: put the
dish in the refrigerator before serving and
it will stay cold once on the table. With
enameled cast iron, the nutritional values
of your ingredients are preserved, as well
as the intensity of their avors. Meat will
remain tender and vegetables will stay
fresh.

Aroma Rain by STAUB
With its sophisticated design and optimized
weight, the at lid has excellent moisture-
retaining properties. It ensures even basting
thanks to its innovative spikes – perfect for
dishes that need to simmer for a long time.
Up to 9 times more efficient
The basting eect ensures that water
droplets are distributed evenly over
the food in the cocotte. By providing
continuous moisture throughout the
cooking process, STAUB’s advanced lid
is up to nine times more eective than
conventional convex lids.
Tested by FGK – Forschungsinstitut für
Anorganische Werkstoe Glas/Keramik
(08/2017).
Up to 50% extra moisture
The STAUB cocotte allows very little moisture
to escape during cooking. Aer 30 minutes
on the cooktop, the amount of liquid
retained is 50% higher than other leading
brands.

And there’s more!
The brass, nickel-plated steel or stainless
steel knobs are resistant up to 250°C
(500°F) in the oven. You can put ice cubes
on the at lid to enhance the internal
condensation process. You can also safely
rest your wooden or silicone utensil on the
lid while cooking.
Here are a few simple steps you should
follow before using your product.
Before first use
Aer unwrapped, remove any labels that
may be attached to your product. Rinse
the item with warm water and let it air dry.
Your product is now ready for use!
Permitted / Compatible heat sources
Your STAUB cast iron product can be
used on the following heat sources:
ovens, electric, gas, radiant, induction and
halogen.
Choose a heat source that matches
the dimensions of the base of your product.
If using an induction cooktop, preheat
your cookware on a low temperature for
5 minutes. You can then increase to full
heat. Any cooktop “booster” functions
should be used with caution.
You can also put your STAUB product
in the oven* (with the exception of those
with a wooden or silicone handle).
* Maximum temperature 250°C/500°F
(200°C/400°F with silicone manics and
220°C/440°F with glass lids).
Start cooking
Heat enameled cast iron products
slowly and never heat them up when
empty. Always add a drop of cooking oil to
prevent damage from overheating.
For grills, use the same method as
above: preheating your cookware on low
for 5 minutes and then brushing oil over the
ribs or your food before grilling.
Warning
Your STAUB cast iron product including
handles and lid knobs can get very hot!
To avoid burns, always use with thermal
insulated protections (eg oven gloves,
STAUB silicone handles, etc.).
Do not place your cookware on
unprotected surfaces while it’s still hot. We
recommend using a trivet or pot holder.
Do not put plastic underneath your hot
product as this could cause the plastic
to melt.
Not suitable for use in a microwave
oven.
For induction cooktops, glass ceramic
surfaces, or any other fragile surface, make
sure you li rather than slide your STAUB
product to avoid damaging the cooking
surface.
General information
We recommend wooden or silicone
kitchen tools.
STAUB products can be stacked. Place
a protective layer between products to
avoid scratches.
We recommend that you brush your
STAUB cast iron product at regular intervals
with cooking oil and slowly heat it on the
stove and remove excess oil with a kitchen
paper. This forms a protective film that
improves the nonstick properties.
STAUB cast iron products can be used
on the grill or BBQ.

The secrets of the Staub lid

Staub maintenance instructions
Clean the pot/pan with warm water,
liquid dish soap and a so sponge or brush.
Our chefs' tip: If any food residue is le
on your product, please do not use abra-
sive or corrosive products such as scouring
powders or metal scouring pads. Aer the
product has cooled down completely,
leave it to soak in hot water or heat your
STAUB product for a few minutes with a
little water and dish soap to remove any
stubborn residue.
If food remains stuck in the pot/pan, it is
advisable to soak it in warm water and dish
soap, overnight if necessary.
If still not completely clean, we recom-
mend soaking the pot/pan in boiling water
with two or three spoonfuls of baking soda
for a few minutes.
Do not use oven cleaners, metal
brushes, or scouring pads that can cause
damage to the enamel.
Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth
and always make sure it is completely dry
before putting it away.
You can wash your product in the
dishwasher (except cookware with
wooden handles), but regular dishwasher
use is not recommended. Modern dish-
washer detergents may damage your
product with regular use.
Knobs and handles may gradually
loosen over time. Check from time to time
and tighten if necessary.
Never immerse your STAUB product in
cold water while it is hot: the thermal shock
may cause cracking or loss of enamel
when it is next heated.
STAUB Lifetime Limited Warranty
STAUB cast iron products are made in
accordance with the strictest quality
standards. STAUB oers a Lifetime Limited
Warranty to individuals for rst-time

is required).
Scope of the warranty
The warranty covers all functional,
manufacturing, and material defects
of STAUB cast iron cookware (excluding
accessories) with regular household use.
Processing of warranty claims
STAUB will assess the customer’s complaint
and the product it concerns and decide
at its own discretion whether the complaint
is covered under the STAUB warranty. If the
product defect is covered under the
STAUB warranty regulations, STAUB will have
the product repaired by STAUB customer
service, replace the defective parts,
or replace the defective product with
an identical one.
If the defective product is no longer
available in the STAUB product range,
STAUB will oer the customer a comparable
product. The cost of processing a
legitimate warranty claim will be covered
by STAUB.
Warranty exclusion
During the warranty valid period the
following is not covered:
Damage due to improper handling of
the product
General wear and tear
Damage due to failure in following the
product care instructions
Change in color of knobs
Variation in color of products with
use and time. To enhance the color of
the matte black enamel interior, we
recommend spreading a small amount
of vegetable oil (sunower or colza) on
the interior and rim of the product before
storing.
Discoloration of the product from
washing in the dishwasher
Damage to the product as a result
of impact or accident
Damage due to improper storage of
the product.
Scope of applicability
The STAUB warranty only applies to
products purchased in the USA, Canada,

and does not limit them. To assert legal
warranty claims, contact the dealer where
