The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority Appoints Daniel Porter, C.M., as Director, Capital
Planning
TAMPA, FL – The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority has named Daniel Porter, C.M., as Director, Capital
Planning. In this role, Mr. Porter will be responsible for the coordination of the Authority’s Capital
Improvement Program (CIP), state and federal grant funding, grant billing, project payments, capital assets,
and project performance reporting. Mr. Porter began his new position on July 5, 2022.
Mr. Porter is an airport planning and operations professional with 26 years of experience in safety, security,
strategic, operational and planning services. Most recently, he was the Vice President, Planning and
Environmental for the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. Mr. Porter has also been a project manager for Short
Elliott Hendrickson Inc., The Louis Berger Group, Delta Airport Consultants, and Clough, Harbour & Associates
LLP. He also worked for Richmond International Airport as Manager of Airport and Terminal Operations.
Mr. Porter earned his bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Daniel Webster College and went on to
receive his master’s in Business Administration from Averett University. He is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the
American Association of Airport Executives.
